The Will to Wake Up

Welcome! My name is Hannah, and I’m so glad you’re here. I hope this blog brings you hope and encouragement throughout each season of life.

My Story

I grew up in the Christian faith, though my relationship with Jesus became truly personal during my sophomore year of high school when I struggled to believe I had worth. Thankfully, God sent me mentors who helped me delve deeper into who God says I am and understand that He has a purpose for me. At the end of that year, I experienced a serious car accident. After being able to walk away from it physically unscathed, my relationship with Jesus became the center of my life as I slowly released to Him my broken pieces and asked for spiritual healing.

Months later, I felt prompted to begin this blog as a way to process pain and hardship as well as bring hope to others. My life has taken many unexpected twists and turns since then, such as transferring colleges, self-publishing a book, studying abroad, walking alongside struggling friends, being called in and out of vocational ministry, receiving mental health support, and working at a horse barn. Each of these experiences, whether disappointing or challenging or joyful, have brought me closer to Jesus as I’ve relied on His grace to bring me strength. I’m thankful for the inspiration that has come from them and I pray my simple reflections can encourage others.

As I near the completion of my creative writing degree, I am excited to see what God has next for my writing. No matter what, I hope to use my writing to bring others closer to Him and help them feel seen and loved.
